USES OF BORIC ACID

COCKROACHES

Sprinkle a thin layer of boric acid in places you see cockroaches, under fridge, stove & dishwasher, in cupboards under microwave & jug any cracks or holes. Do not spread it thick so it will deter the cockroaches from walking in it and taking the powder back to the nest. They lick it off their legs, it will kill them & their eggs.

ANTS

Fill a milk bottle top with half boric acid & half sugar. Place it where you have the ant problem.

FLEAS

Sprinkle small amounts of boric acid on surfaces where fleare seen, such as bare floors, stairs or furniture. The amount of boric acid should be thin enough so that the fleas won’t avoid the area. They need to move through the boric acid and get it on their bodies so it works. A light sprinkling shouldn’t be noticed by them but will poison them as it works its way into their systems. Apply larger amounts of boric acid across thresholds that you don’t want fleas to cross. This can be helpful in keeping the infestation confined to one or two rooms. A thick trail of powder placed in doorways can make it much easier to treat the rooms that are affected and to keep the rest of the home from needing treatment.

TREATING FEET

Sprinkle boric acid in your shoes or work boots to kill fungus. Soak your feet in a half a bucket of warm water and a third of a cup of BA to stop tinea and foot odor.

CLEANING FLOORS

Add a tablespoon boric acid to a half a bucket of water to wash your floor.

REMOVING URINE STAINS AND SMELL

For smells & stains add half a cup boric acid in with your wash to rid clothing/bedding of urine smells and stains. Dampen urine stains on mattress, carpet etc with a little water, sprinkle BA on, allow to dry then brush or vacuum up.

MEDICINAL

Boric acid is often used for medicinal purposes. It is effective in the treatment of skin conditions such as acne and is often used as an eye wash. Mix 1 tbsp. of boric acid powder with a half a cup of saline water or the saline wash that is used for contact lenses and flush the eyes with the solution to clear up eye irritations. Mix boric acid with distilled water at a ratio of one cup of boric acid powder to one litre of water to create a wound spray. The mixture has antiseptic properties that will cleanse the wound. Boric acid is also used as a home treatment for chronic yeast infections.

GENERAL DEODORIZER
